If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That’s my thought on Chocolate Covered Strawberries. Now they’re not rocket science, but these Michigan State ones turned out so stinking cute that just I couldn’t resist posting about them.
My sister’s friend Marisa recently signed with Michigan State University to play soccer there in the fall (woot! woot!). So for her signing ceremony and official Spartan debut, I crafted these cute little strawberries for her as a congratulatory indulgence.
I can’t wait to make these again for tailgating season!
2 lbs of fresh strawberries
12 oz chocolate candy coating or morsels
white chocolate for drizzling/decoration (optional)
1. Wash and thoroughly dry strawberries. Melt chocolate according to package instructions until smooth. Dip strawberries in the chocolate until thoroughly covered and place on wax paper to cool. If you’re using sprinkles as decoration, sprinkle them on immediately while the chocolate is still wet.
2. For the white chocolate writing, melt the chocolate until smooth just like before, and scoop the melted chocolate in a zip top bag. Cut a teensy tiny corner off of the bag and very slowly and delicately pipe whatever you wish on the cooled strawberries. And that’s that! You can serve these immediately or store in an airtight container.
